Thank you for your interest in Immaculate Heart of Mary Preschool. The following information will help you determine if Immaculate Heart of Mary Preschool is the right preschool for you and your child.
The preschool classroom is licensed for up to 24 children ranging in age from three to five years old. However, our class size is much smaller and our teacher to student ratio is 1 teacher to every 6 students. Thus, our students have optimal one-on-one supervision and learning opportunities. A full time Site Supervisor/two teachers staff it.
To enter IHM Preschool, children must be three years of age on or before September 1 for the year seeking admission.
Before entering preschool at IHM, children must be toilet trained, ready to separate from parents and be capable of interacting positively with other children and adults. If a child does not show signs of readiness, he/she will be asked to withdraw and re-enroll at a later date. Academic development is secondary to the social and emotional development of the preschool aged child.
Immaculate Heart of Mary Preschool is a ten-month program, August – June. The preschool will follow the school year calendar for Christmas, Easter vacations, and holidays.

PHILOSOPHY STATEMENT
We, the community of Immaculate Heart of Mary School, value the uniqueness of each student and strive to develop each student mind, body, and spirit.
We believe that learning is relationship-based. Our fundamental goal is to establish trusting relationships among students, teachers and parents. Carefully constructed educational experiences promote creativity, collaboration, critical thinking, problem-solving, service, and a sense of wonder for the beauty and complexity of God's creation.
Recognizing that a preschool is the beginning of a new experience in childhood, Immaculate Heart of Mary Preschool strives to create an environment of love and support, where children are allowed to grow and develop at their own rate. By providing a nurturing, caring environment where play and learning is integrated, children will develop age appropriate skills necessary as they learn to communicate and work with others.
Recognizing that the parents are the primary educators of their students with teachers as facilitators of the student’s learning, we stress the partnership of family, school, and parish in building the faith community of Immaculate Heart of Mary.
