Thank you for your interest in Immaculate Heart of Mary Preschool. The following information will help you determine if Immaculate Heart of Mary Preschool is the right preschool for you and your child.

The preschool classroom is licensed for 24 children ranging in age from three to five years old. A full time director, and three teachers staff it.

To enter IHM Preschool, children must be three years of age on or before September 1 for the year seeking admission.

Before entering preschool at IHM, children must be toilet trained, ready to separate from parents and be capable of interacting positively with other children and adults. If a child does not show signs of readiness, he/she will be asked to withdraw and re-enroll at a later date. Academic development is secondary to the social and emotional development of the preschool aged child.

Immaculate Heart of Mary Preschool is an eleven-month program, August – June. The preschool will follow the school year calendar for Christmas, Easter vacations, and holidays.

We, the community of Immaculate Heart of Mary School, believe in the four-fold purpose of Catholic education: to teach Catholic doctrine and to proclaim Gospel values, to build a community, to worship, and to foster service. We value the uniqueness of each child and strive to develop the total person spiritually, morally, intellectually, culturally, socially, physically, and psychologically.

Recognizing that a preschool is the beginning of a new experience in childhood, Immaculate Heart of Mary strives to create an environment of love and support, where children are allowed to grow and develop at their own rate. By providing a nurturing, caring environment where play and learning is integrated, children will develop age appropriate skills necessary as they learn to communicate and work with others. Immaculate Heart of Mary is committed to supporting a child’s development of self-esteem, social awareness, a sense of responsibility, self-discipline, and a love of learning.

Recognizing that the parents are the primary educators of their children with teachers as facilitators of the children’s learning, we stress the partnership of family, school, and parish in building up the faith community of Immaculate Heart of Mary.
